Dr Ella Davey
MA – MSc – PGDip – DCPsych – CPsychol – AFBPsS
I am a BPS Chartered Psychologist, Registered Counselling Psychologist (HCPC) and Integrative Psychotherapist.
I have gained experience working in a variety of settings including NHS inpatient mental health services, community and third sector organisations, the corporate sector, and private practice. I now work almost exclusively in my own clinic in Sussex.
My Expertise
Following a change of professional direction in my early 30s, I retrained and completed a Masters in Experimental Psychology at University of Sussex before spending several years working in women’s drug and alcohol treatment services.
I then completed 5 years of training at Metanoia Institute in London earning a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy and clinical diplomas in Psychodynamic Counselling and Integrative Psychotherapy.
My specialties include working with the impact of complex relational trauma and with people who are experiencing enduring difficulties in thinking, feeling, and relating, sometimes termed ‘personality disorders’ including schizoid, narcissistic, and emotionally unstable types.
